As the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational Muppets take their global tour straight to your local theater today in Muppets Most Wanted, you can get a glimpse at an alternative version of one of the film’s new songs—performed by the songwriter himself.

In Muppets Most Wanted, the nefarious Constantine steals Kermit’s identity and, as part of the charade, goes about wooing Miss Piggy with the ’80s-style ballad, “I’ll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo in Malibu).”

In the new video, which premiered yesterday on FunnyOrDie.com, Oscar®-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie (“Man or Muppet,” The Muppets) fills in for Constantine, and the results are pretty arresting.

The video was conceived and produced by The Walt Disney Studios’ live-action music department, led by Mitchell Leib. This is the team behind many of the Studios’ popular and award-winning film soundtracks including TRON: Legacy, The Muppets, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

The full Muppets Most Wanted soundtrack is available from Walt Disney Records wherever music is sold, and Bret’s version of the song will soon be released on iTunes.
