“The Jungle Book” to Cross $800M Mark Globally

The Jungle Book surpassed $500 million internationally yesterday and today is expected to join Zootopia as the second Disney release of 2016 to cross the $800 million mark globally. The film will reach the $300 million threshold domestically this weekend.

In addition, with $54.4 million in the UK/Ireland, The Jungle Book will surpass Deadpool this weekend to become the highest-grossing title of 2016 in the region. It is already the highest-grossing Hollywood release ever in India, as well as the third-highest grossing Disney release ever in China. The film opens in Korea on June 2 and in Japan on August 11.

The Jungle Book has been embraced by critics and audiences alike, with a stellar Rotten Tomatoes score of 95% Fresh and an A CinemaScore from theatergoers.
