‘Incredibles 2’ is First Animated Film to Hit $600 Million Domestic

Incredibles 2 surpassed the $600 million mark at the domestic box office over Labor Day weekend, becoming the first animated film to reach this milestone and just the ninth film ever to cross this threshold. With an additional $564 million internationally, the film has earned $1.166 billion globally and is now the No. 17 film of all time and the No. 2 animated film ever. Incredibles 2 is set to open in Germany and Italy in September.

The film’s opening (June 15–17) set a domestic box office record for biggest animated debut ever with $182.7 million. Incredibles 2 has been has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, with an A+ CinemaScore and a 93% Certified Fresh on RottenTomatoes.
